Incorporated in 1884 under the laws of the state of Minnesota, the company altered its name from "Railway" to "Railroad" in 1885. It operated a 200-mile line from Winnipeg Junction, MN to Pembina, ND, and operated branch lines from Key West to Sherack, MN, and from Red Lake Falls Junction to Red Lake Falls, MN.
